How This Assessment Should Be Used

This tool is meant to help you identify weak points late in dedicated study, not to tell you whether you are definitively ready for your real exam.

Best Window

Use this assessment roughly 4 to 6 weeks before your expected Step 1 test date. It is not intended for the very beginning of your dedicated study time when your baseline is still rapidly changing.

Primary Purpose

This assessment is specifically designed to surface weak systems, disciplines, and competencies so you can focus your final weeks of review. It is not designed to certify readiness or give a final go-no-go answer for taking Step 1.

Best Companion Tool

We strongly recommend using the Predict My Step Score predictor about 2 weeks before this assessment and again about 2 weeks after it. That gives you a cleaner before-and-after read on whether targeted work on your weak points is actually improving your score trajectory.

The ideal sequence is: establish a predictor baseline, use this assessment to find the areas costing you points, spend the next couple of weeks doubling down on those weak spots, then repeat the predictor to see whether that focused review changed the direction of your score.
